AI Industry Supply-Demand Matching Conference Held in Nanjing

Press Release: AI Industry Chain Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference in Nanjing

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently hosted the AI Industry Chain Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference at the China (Nanjing) Smart Valley. Supported by local industry and technology bureaus, this inaugural conference is the first in a series aimed at bridging supply and demand in the AI sector, with a focus on smart manufacturing, intelligent monitoring, smart transportation, and intelligent equipment.

The conference's primary objective was to tackle industry challenges and facilitate targeted connections between AI technology providers and industry stakeholders. More than 70 representatives from various sectors—including government, academia, research institutions, tech parks, and AI enterprises—gathered to explore the extensive applications and future prospects of artificial intelligence.

Chi Yu, Vice Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized Jiangsu's significant progress in advancing AI innovation. The province has strategically integrated the AI industry chain into its "1650" industrial framework, enhancing policy support and strategic initiatives. This focus has led to the establishment of a new AI industry ecosystem prioritizing application-driven development, cross-industry collaboration, and open innovation. With over 1,000 AI companies, Jiangsu ranks among the nation’s leaders in the sector, and invoiced sales from key monitored enterprises in the AI chain increased by 13% in 2023 compared to the previous year.

At the conference, the Provincial Department unveiled the "AI Empowerment in New Industrialization Case Compilation," showcasing 150 successful AI applications within the province's industrial clusters. This document provides valuable insights into the integration of AI across various sectors while analyzing trends and characteristics. Feng Wei, Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Artificial Intelligence Society, offered a comprehensive analysis of these case studies, emphasizing the distribution of production processes and the application of AI technologies, particularly in industrial quality inspection.

This conference marks a significant step toward fostering collaboration and innovation in artificial intelligence, helping to build a robust ecosystem that supports the growth and application of AI technologies in Jiangsu.
