According to recent reports from an American engineering website, scientists at Australia's Akkodis have developed an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) tool named Soze. Evaluation results reveal that this tool can accomplish in 30 hours what would take a detective 81 years to complete. Currently, Soze is undergoing real-world testing with the Avon and Somerset police departments in the UK.
The research team highlights that Soze utilizes advanced machine learning and AI capabilities to integrate various existing analytical tools, applying smart metrics for swift, in-depth analyses of data from multiple sources. This functionality enables Soze to identify potential evidence or valuable information more quickly, creatively, and accurately than humans or traditional tools. The analytical methodologies employed include link and frequency analysis, communication analysis, network analysis, object discovery, vectorization, geospatial analysis, text analysis, and facial recognition.
Assessment findings indicate that Soze can review evidence from 27 complex cases in just 30 hours, a task that would take a human an estimated 81 years to accomplish—making Soze 23,600 times more efficient. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated across various types of criminal cases, and the tool is backed by Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
