AIGC Impact: Full Accessibility of the GPT-4 API Now Available!

On July 7th, OpenAI announced that the GPT-4 API is fully available for all paid users, offering immediate access to the GPT-4 model with an 8K context length. OpenAI plans to extend API access to new developers by the end of July.

Alongside GPT-4, OpenAI has launched the GPT-3.5 Turbo, DALL·E, and Whisper APIs. The company will also release safer, fine-tuned versions of both GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 Turbo later this year.

Since its release in March 2023, the GPT-4 model has attracted millions of developers eager to create innovative products using its capabilities. Previously, developers had to apply for access to ensure safe and stable services; however, the API is now open to all global developers, facilitating enhancements to existing applications and the development of new generative AI solutions.

OpenAI has retired several older models, replacing them with the gpt-3.5-turbo-instruct model. Previous models such as davinci-instruct-beta, gpt-curie-instruct-beta, and others are no longer available.

Key Features of GPT-4:

1. Creativity: GPT-4 excels in creative tasks, generating, editing, and co-creating content for various writing needs, including songwriting, scriptwriting, and replicating users' writing styles.

2. Visual Input: This model can analyze images and generate descriptions and analyses. For example, if images of eggs and flour are provided with the inquiry, "What can I make with these ingredients?" GPT-4 might suggest pancakes, waffles, crepes, omelets, custards, cakes, muffins, and cookies. This feature is currently in testing with select partners.

3. Extended Context Handling: GPT-4 can process over 25,000 words, enabling the creation of long-form content, comprehensive dialogues, and document searches. Users can even incorporate direct links within their queries.
