Amazon introduced generative AI-powered features last year to help sellers swiftly create product listings with just a few words. The company is now enhancing this process, making it easier for sellers to create listings for items already available on their platform.
The e-commerce leader’s latest tool leverages AI to extract details from an external product URL and generate a corresponding Amazon listing. This feature is currently being rolled out in English for sellers in the U.S.
“We’re excited to announce the ability for sellers to effortlessly create high-quality, engaging Amazon listings by simply providing us with a product URL,” said the company in a blog post. “Our generative AI technology will seamlessly parse the existing listing, making the process quicker and easier than ever.”
Last October, Amazon debuted a tool enabling advertisers to generate backgrounds using text prompts. The company noted that products displayed with contextual backgrounds saw a 40% increase in click-through rates compared to those with plain white backgrounds.
In its latest update, Amazon revealed that over 100,000 sellers have experimented with generative AI tools. Notably, 80% of the time, sellers accept the recommendations provided by these AI-powered features.
Other companies have also ventured into AI-powered tools to assist advertisers and retailers. For instance, Google launched a product imagery tool last year, eBay introduced a feature that generates listings from product images, and Shopify unveiled its AI-powered image editor for products earlier this year.
