Advertisers begin by uploading a product image, providing a text description for the desired background, choosing a theme, and then clicking “Generate.” They can further enhance the image by entering additional prompts, enabling them to explore various iterations to optimize ad performance.
For example, the e-commerce leader showcases an image of a toaster set against a charming autumn-themed kitchen table decorated with colorful leaves and a vibrant pumpkin. While the beta tool is still being refined, the backdrop effectively conveys the seasonal vibe, despite a quirky fork appearing in the corner.
As brands increasingly turn to generative AI to streamline ad creation—often a costly and time-consuming endeavor—industry giants like Nestlé and Unilever have begun using similar tools, including ChatGPT and DALL-E, as reported by Reuters.
“Creating engaging and distinct advertisements can inflate costs and frequently necessitate additional expertise,” stated Colleen Aubrey, Senior Vice President of Amazon Ads Products and Technology. “At Amazon Ads, we continuously seek ways to reduce barriers for advertisers, equip them with impactful tools that require less effort, and ultimately enhance their advertising experience for our customers.”
Amazon believes this cutting-edge feature will enable brands to enhance ad performance by moving beyond standard product images with plain white backgrounds. Advertisers can now position their products within vibrant lifestyle contexts that tell compelling stories. Consequently, this new tool has the potential to boost click-through rates by 40%, according to the company.
