Even the most devoted musicians need to take a break occasionally, but on YouTube, you can experience an endless bass solo. Dadabots, creators of a continuous death metal stream, have developed a YouTube channel featuring an infinite bass solo generated by a recurrent neural network (RNN).
Team members CJ Carr and Zack Zukowski trained the RNN using two hours of bass improvisation from YouTuber Adam Neely. Through their experimentation, they focused the dataset on faster licks, as the RNN performs better with fast tempos. This approach not only enhanced the overall sound quality but also resulted in a lively, frenetic bass performance.
Dadabots highlights that the AI occasionally creates the illusion of two basses playing together due to high temperature settings. If you're intrigued by the energetic, fast-paced licks, you can sample the audio under a CC-BY license.
