Bird Buddy: Experience Birdwatching with the AI-Powered Bird Feeder and App Now Available for Everyone

Bird Buddy Unveils Bird Buddy Explore: A New Way to Connect with Nature

Bird Buddy, the innovative startup renowned for its AI-powered smart bird feeders—including the newly launched smart Hummingbird Feeder and Bird Bath—has just introduced an exciting new digital product: Bird Buddy Explore. This feature allows users to access live feeds from Bird Buddy cameras positioned across the globe, including exotic locations like Hawaii, Kenya, Chile, and Bhutan, expanding beyond the continental U.S.

With this new release, Bird Buddy aims to engage individuals who do not own its smart feeders, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the beauty of birdwatching, regardless of their location or habitat.

Bird Buddy has a wealth of content to curate for this feature, as the app generates two years' worth of nature interactions weekly. Each day, Bird Buddy smart bird feeders around the world log over 1 million bird detections, providing users with a rich tapestry of avian activity to explore.

To get started with Bird Buddy Explore, simply download the flagship app for iOS or Android. Initially designed for feeder owners, the app now hosts an “Explore” section marked by a globe icon. Here, users can swipe through various remote bird feeders worldwide and connect to their chosen feeder with a simple tap. Added feeders will send you “postcards”—captivating snapshots and videos showcasing bird visitors at that location.

In addition to birdwatching feeds, the Explore feature offers fascinating educational details about each bird species users might encounter. It complements another engaging feature, Bird Buddy TV, which provides a live, TikTok-style vertical video feed of sightings from various customers' feeders.

Alongside Bird Buddy Explore, the company is launching two accessories aimed at attracting a wider variety of birds to its feeders. The Bird Buddy Perch Extender accommodates larger birds by providing a more spacious feeding area. Meanwhile, the Bird Buddy 3-in-1 Nutrition Set includes a water fountain, jelly tray, and fruit spike to entice birds such as orioles and finches.

Franci Zidar, co-founder and CEO of Bird Buddy, expressed the company’s mission: “We aim to help nature capture our attention and create meaningful connections with the natural world for as many people as possible. That’s why we’re expanding the Bird Buddy app to deliver an extraordinary experience for those without backyards or feeders. This development unlocks the wonders of birdlife and underscores their essential role in our ecosystems. We are privileged to spread joy around the clock and grateful to our community for their invaluable support in making this possible.”

Bird Buddy has also launched a subscription service called Bird Buddy Pro, allowing users to mute or ignore certain species, add extra guest slots, and utilize a new frenzy mode for maximizing bird detections. Additionally, this fall, Bird Buddy is set to introduce its own seed subscription service, ensuring customers easily access the right feed for their feeders.

To date, Bird Buddy has successfully installed 150,000 feeders worldwide, each capable of recognizing over 1,000 bird species.
