ChatGPT Enterprise by OpenAI: Securely Encrypting Corporate Conversations for Enhanced Privacy

OpenAI has officially launched ChatGPT Enterprise, a business-focused subscription initially announced in April. This new offering ensures that the company's AI models will not learn from any business data or conversations. According to OpenAI, “Our models don’t learn from your usage,” highlighting their commitment to user privacy.

Key features of ChatGPT Enterprise include encrypted business chats, both in transit and at rest, and SOC 2 compliance. Notable companies such as Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC, and Zapier have already tested the platform.

ChatGPT Enterprise offers twice the speed of access to GPT-4 (the same model used in ChatGPT Pro) without any usage caps. It includes an enhanced context capacity of 32,000 tokens, enabling the AI to process up to four times the text input/output compared to the $20-per-month Pro tier. Additionally, it features unlimited access to advanced data analysis tools, previously known as the Code Interpreter, for efficient handling of large datasets.

The subscription also comes with an admin console, allowing businesses to manage employee usage in bulk. Teams can create shared chat templates tailored to common workflows, enhancing collaboration. Furthermore, enterprises receive free credits for OpenAI’s API, which can be utilized for developing custom chatbots and other specialized AI-generated content. An analytics dashboard provides insights into usage within the organization.

While the launch primarily targets large corporations, OpenAI plans to release a version for smaller businesses in the future. COO Brian Lightcap explained that starting with larger enterprises helps the company engage with teams more effectively and understand the deployment process before expanding accessibility. OpenAI has not disclosed public pricing, but businesses interested in ChatGPT Enterprise can inquire directly for customized plans based on their specific use cases and size.
