Discover Amazon Music's New AI Feature for Topic-Based Podcast Episode Browsing

Amazon Music unveiled an exciting new AI-driven feature on Tuesday, designed to enhance your podcast listening experience.

When you explore a podcast episode, you’ll notice new Topic tags located below the episode description. By tapping on a tag, you can discover a curated list of related episodes that delve into the same subject. This feature allows you to explore diverse topics like "Coffee" and "Dopamine," alongside traditional categories such as Comedy and News.

The new functionality is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and also benefits from human oversight. While the AI analyzes podcast transcripts and descriptions to pinpoint key topics, human team members carefully select the appropriate tags to display on each episode page.

Starting today, this feature is available to all Amazon Music users in the U.S. on iOS and Android devices. It will be implemented across popular podcasts on Amazon Music, including The Daily, SmartLess, and This American Life. The company plans to expand its coverage soon.

In addition to the Topic tags, Amazon Music is introducing Maestro, an innovative AI playlist generator that curates playlists based on user prompts. This feature entered beta testing in April. These latest AI enhancements follow Amazon's acquisition of the audio content discovery platform Snackable AI last year, aimed at improving features for its podcasting offerings.

Whether you're a podcast enthusiast or a newcomer, these updates from Amazon Music promise to make your listening journey more engaging and personalized.
