In the age of generative AI, many organizations are utilizing prompts throughout their content generation processes. However, AI startup Typeface believes there is a more effective approach.
Founded in San Francisco in 2023, Typeface aims to deliver highly customized, on-brand generative AI content. The startup has integrated with various vendors, including Microsoft and Google, to enhance marketing workflows for organizations.
Introducing Typeface Arc
Today, Typeface is launching Typeface Arc, a technology designed to allow users to define high-level marketing objectives while the system autonomously plans and generates all necessary assets. These assets—including emails, images, and notifications—work together to create a cohesive story arc that captivates customers.
“It’s not exciting to type one prompt at a time to generate a single image or paragraph,” stated Abhay Parasnis, CEO of Typeface. “The novelty wears off quickly.”
The Quest for User Personalization
Parasnis argues that current generative AI systems often produce disjointed outputs. While generating individual content pieces can be helpful, there remains a need for orchestrating personalized customer journeys from beginning to end. “This has always been the holy grail of marketing,” he explains.
Typeface Arc addresses this challenge by adopting an integrated approach that goes beyond simple prompt engineering. Its aim is to automate the creation of personalized marketing campaigns tailored to users' business goals. “You just tell it your goal, and it will create the entire marketing journey and campaign,” Parasnis described. The system generates everything from initial emails to follow-up notifications, each personalized to the audience and product.
Harnessing AI Agents for Advanced Marketing
The Typeface platform is already capable of training and understanding an organization’s brand voice and style. A key component of this platform is the Typeface Graph, which provides a multimodal knowledge graph of an organization’s content. This level of fine-tuning enhances the capabilities of Typeface Arc, enabling it to support comprehensive marketing journeys.
“Our proprietary system allows marketers to define their goals at a high level,” said Parasnis. “The system utilizes our prompt corpus and Typeface Graph to create sophisticated marketing plans.”
Typeface Arc operates as an agent technology, where the AI executes workflows on behalf of users by comprehending prompt choreography and maintaining context across multiple prompts. “We’ve built a custom planner for marketing,” explained Parasnis, emphasizing the importance of training the LLM to recognize not only individual prompts but also their interconnections.
The Future of A/B Testing with Generative AI
A common practice in marketing is A/B testing, where different versions of content are tested to determine which performs better. However, Parasnis believes that with technologies like Typeface Arc, A/B testing may soon become obsolete. The system features an analysis component that continuously evaluates content performance, allowing for real-time optimization.
“I think A/B testing will be a thing of the past,” he stated. “With AI-driven marketing agents like Typeface Arc, we can create a more closed-loop system.”
