Floworks Develops an AI Assistant to Transform Worker Interactions with Software

Floworks Secures $1.5 Million Seed Investment to Enhance Enterprise AI Assistance

During their journey as co-founders of Floworks in Y Combinator's Winter 23 cohort, Sudipta Biswas and Sarthak Shrivastava had a pivotal conversation with seasoned investor Vinod Khosla. His encouragement to “think bigger” had a profound impact on their vision for Floworks, an innovative AI assistant aimed at streamlining mundane enterprise tasks.

Today, Floworks proudly announces a successful $1.5 million seed funding round.

“Our product is fundamentally an AI assistant capable of interacting with the various software tools that knowledge workers rely on daily, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Salesforce. Users can give instructions in simple natural language to accomplish their tasks efficiently,” Biswas explained. The mission centers on leveraging AI to enhance employee experiences rather than replacing them.

Initially, Floworks will focus on sales applications while integrating with popular platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Gmail. The founders aspire to expand their integrations to cover operations, product development, and other areas within organizations over time.

Users simply need to access the Floworks web app and log into the applications they wish to utilize. Once logged in, the Floworks assistant becomes available in Slack, allowing users to articulate their needs in plain language, such as adding a new contact to the CRM, scheduling a calendar invite, or sending introductory emails.

Each action engages an approval process, and should the assistant require further information, it seamlessly continues the conversation within Slack, ensuring an interactive experience. Plans are also in place to integrate Microsoft Teams in the future.

Currently, Floworks is running a successful beta with paying customers and reports an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of nearly $250,000. The founders indicate intentions to broaden revenue streams through partnerships with channel partners. They differentiate themselves by offering an AI assistant that works across multiple applications, helping to fend off competition from larger organizations that focus solely on their proprietary product ecosystems. "Our ability to enable interoperability between different applications sets us apart," noted Biswas.

Located in San Francisco and Bangalore, India, Floworks has grown to a team of 11 employees. The co-founders prioritize building a diverse workforce as essential for creating a successful product. "We believe diversity is crucial for developing the vision we have for our product," Shrivastava emphasized. “We aim to transform how software is utilized globally, which involves inclusive participation from everyone, including our partners.”

The recent $1.5 million seed round was spearheaded by Y Combinator and Sense AI, with contributions from Gaingels, Entrepreneur First, and ThinKuvate. This funding round was finalized in May.
