Growing Demand for Creative Talent in the AIGC Era: Adobe Partners with NetEase to Launch Innovative Design Course

This year, the rapid rise of ChatGPT has sparked a new wave of competition in artificial intelligence (AI). Driven by the AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) frenzy, various industries and supply chains are undergoing significant transformation, creating new opportunities for companies like Nvidia. According to IDC, China's AI market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.4%, potentially exceeding $18.43 billion by 2025.

The emergence of AIGC signifies a comprehensive upgrade across all sectors. This shift not only influences the transformation of front-end applications but also alters the demand for talent, subsequently driving new needs within the education sector. Recently, Adobe partnered with NetEase Youdao to launch online courses in creative design tailored for higher education institutions in China. The curriculum includes practical skills for using Adobe Creative Cloud and encompasses fields such as photography, graphic design, audiovisual media, interactive design, 3D modeling, and immersive design.

Yang Jian, Digital Media Director for Adobe China, stated that 2023 marks the beginning of generative AI, significantly enhancing the demand for creative talent in the digital industry. He emphasized that students today have more opportunities to master advanced skills. Additionally, Feng Qiang, Assistant Vice President at NetEase Youdao, highlighted the importance of deeply integrating education with industry to cultivate talent, with Adobe serving as a crucial tool provider in this process.

According to Acumen Research and Consulting, the global AIGC market is projected to reach $110 billion by 2030. Before this collaboration, Adobe had already partnered with over 200 Chinese universities and primary and secondary schools, introducing new media technologies, 3D design, and concepts related to the metaverse. These collaborations support project development in schools by providing licensed Creative Cloud software, media laboratories, specialized classrooms, and digital libraries.

Furthermore, in March, NetEase Cloud Classroom launched its own AIGC course series and established an online community square for users to showcase and discuss their creative designs. Feng Qiang revealed that NetEase Youdao has formed partnerships with numerous universities to jointly nurture emerging talent in AI, big data, and digital arts. As AI technology evolves, new professions and skills, such as prompt engineering for AIGC, are emerging, offering courses to enhance the career competitiveness of professionals.

While the advancement of AIGC has significantly improved operational efficiency, it has also raised concerns about job displacement. Feng Qiang believes that AI presents not only challenges but also numerous opportunities. The sooner individuals prioritize understanding and utilizing AI, the more likely they are to seize opportunities during this transformative wave. Historically, each technological revolution has disrupted multiple industries; although the process may be challenging, the benefits of technological advancements ultimately enrich society as a whole.
