The fight to protect artists’ content from unauthorized use in AI training continues. IbisPaint has recently introduced an innovative AI Disturbance tool designed to disrupt AI image generation. This feature adds noise to illustrations, preventing AI from accurately interpreting or replicating the artwork. Another noteworthy option, Glaze, corrupts data to thwart copying but is offered as a standalone tool rather than an integrated feature.
IbisPaint is a widely used app among mobile and tablet users, boasting over 15,000 brushes, 21,000 materials, and a stroke stabilization feature. When artists activate the AI Disturbance tool in IbisPaint, their created images become noticeably grainier. Users can customize the level of AI Disturbance based on how much they want to protect their work. IbisPaint demonstrates that increased noise intensity results in AI-generated images being less similar to the original.
To access the AI Disturbance tool, users simply click the back button and choose to save their artwork. They can then enable AI Disturbance and adjust its intensity. However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of this tool varies based on the AI and the fine-tuning algorithms in use, meaning results cannot be guaranteed in every scenario.
