Kaedim, a startup focused on optimizing 3D asset creation, has successfully raised $15 million in its Series A funding round. The company recently launched an innovative AI-powered marketplace featuring 10,000 pre-generated 3D assets, alongside a platform for showcasing user-generated content. The new funding will be used to enhance the platform, expand its team, and increase market reach.
Led by A16z Games, the funding round also saw contributions from Pioneer Fund and notable investors including Scott Gelb (former President of Riot Games), Nate Mitchell (Oculus co-founder), Eden Chen (CEO of Pragma), and Siqi Chen (CEO of Runway).
Kaedim has unveiled a comprehensive suite of tools to support creators in building 3D assets, emphasizing augmentation over replacement of artistic efforts. Key offerings include a 3D workflow solution compatible with existing platforms like Unreal Engine and Blender, smart add-ons for 3D modeling processes (such as automatic UV unwrapping), a managed service for bespoke 3D asset generation utilizing machine learning, and various enterprise features.
CEO Konstantina Psoma stated, “We have witnessed tremendous growth in 3D technology over the last five years across numerous sectors, including e-commerce, gaming, 3D printing, and AR/VR. Our goal is to empower the next evolution of 3D content creation, much like what DALL-E achieved for 2D images and concept art.”
