Meta is Developing AI-Generated Influencers: The Future of Virtual Celebrity Engagement

Meta is setting ambitious goals for AI's role in supporting creators, showcased through two captivating demos at Connect.

One demonstration featured a cutting-edge AI persona that replicates real influencers. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a live demo of an AI character that mirrored a creator’s appearance, speech, and response style—an astonishing experience.

The second tool transforms Reels by automatically dubbing them into different languages while preserving the creator's voice and synchronizing mouth movements. Zuckerberg showcased videos where Spanish creators' Reels were translated and dubbed into English. Although the demo was pre-recorded, the technology's potential to broaden the reach of videos is noteworthy, especially as Meta seeks to enhance its competition against platforms like TikTok and YouTube, which are also investing in auto-dubbing.

Additionally, Meta introduced various other AI features at Connect, including the ability for its AI assistant to mimic the voices of celebrities.
