OpenAI Unveils GPT Store and New Subscription Tier for Teams: A Game-Changer for ChatGPT Users

OpenAI has launched its GPT Store for custom GPTs alongside a new subscription tier called ChatGPT Team designed for smaller teams. The GPT Store enables developers and users to create, share, and monetize custom versions of the popular chatbot. The ChatGPT Team subscription costs between $25 and $30 per month per user, emphasizing data security and accommodating longer queries.

GPT Store

The GPT Store allows OpenAI to harness the immense popularity of ChatGPT by adopting a business model similar to Apple’s App Store, taking a percentage of each transaction. Anyone can build and share GPTs without any coding experience, though creators must set up a Builder Profile that includes their real name or links to a verified website. OpenAI plans to introduce a revenue program for GPT creators in the first quarter, where U.S. builders will earn based on user engagement with their creations, with more details anticipated soon.

ChatGPT Team

ChatGPT Team provides a secure and collaborative workspace aimed at enhancing productivity with ChatGPT. Unlike the costs associated with ChatGPT Enterprise, which launched in August, the Team tier is accessible for anyone with a ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise subscription, at a rate of $30 per month (monthly billing) or $25 per month (annual billing).

With ChatGPT Team, subscribers gain access to GPT-4, featuring an expanded context window of 32,000 tokens for longer queries. Additionally, this tier offers increased message limits, and OpenAI assures that it will not utilize ChatGPT Team subscribers’ data for training its models. An admin console is also available to manage users and seats in a secure environment. Team members can create and share custom GPTs internally, and subscribers can look forward to early access to new features and enhancements.
