PlayVS has teamed up with Omnic.AI, a self-service platform designed to elevate gamers' skills through AI-driven feedback.
This partnership allows players to analyze their in-game performance, receive matchmaking with professional players of similar styles, and access comprehensive match analysis data, according to Jon Chapman, CEO of PlayVS, in an interview with GamesBeat.
The collaboration focuses on helping students develop essential skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, and effective communication, ultimately aiming to redefine the future of gaming by empowering the next generation of esports enthusiasts.
PlayVS primarily targets middle and high school esports leagues, utilizing Omnic.AI's analytics tools to provide valuable insights. Earlier this year, PlayVS launched a digital-first esports competition platform to expand its reach within the student community.
Omnic.AI enhances player performance and communication in esports through advanced data analytics. Its flagship product, Omnic Forge, leverages AI and machine learning to analyze gameplay, offering feedback and statistics to help players improve in popular titles such as Valorant, Fortnite, Rocket League, Overwatch 2, and soon, Madden.
The platform provides two types of insights: AI coaching, which offers tips on performance and team communication, and advanced analytics, covering aspects like aim analysis, match recaps, statistics comparisons, and round-by-round performance summaries. Additionally, Omnic.AI features an AI Chat, a personalized chatbot that provides instant coaching advice based on players' recent performances.
According to PlayVS's Esports Impact Report, approximately 85% of coaches have observed improvements in their players' communication skills, while 83% noted enhancements in leadership abilities due to participation in esports. Moreover, 60% of coaches reported better academic performance or attendance among their players, and 45% of PlayVS students expressed increased enthusiasm for attending school since joining an esports team.
This partnership transcends mere gameplay enhancement. Chapman emphasized their commitment to creating a resource, dubbed the PlayVS Collective, aimed at supporting users in their esports journey—highlighting potential connections between gaming and STEM education.
The PlayVS Collective fosters a supportive community, providing students, coaches, and schools with the essential resources needed to enhance their esports experiences. This includes access to equipment, infrastructure, and a collaborative environment for competitive gaming.
"The partnership also focuses on optimizing player performance," Chapman noted. "I connected with Shaun Meredith, CEO of Omnic.AI, who was interested in providing their Omnic Forge product to analyze game performance across multiple titles available on our platform."
Through this initiative, high school students can access advanced gaming analysis tools at no cost, allowing them to gain a competitive edge within their leagues. Players can upload five matches simultaneously and receive two insights per match, facilitating connections with professional players sharing their gaming styles and offering detailed match analyses. PlayVS will collaborate with esports coaches to train the Omnic Forge AI, ensuring the platform’s insights are beneficial for its users.
"We're excited to partner with PlayVS and extend our gaming analysis capabilities to a wider audience," said Shaun Meredith, Omnic.AI CEO. "This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance gamers' skills and overall enjoyment."
Founded in 2021 by MIT alumnus and former nuclear engineer Meredith, along with former Apple director Chuck Goldman, Omnic.AI distinguishes itself by being one of the first AI-driven platforms offering analytics tailored specifically to competitive gaming at the B2B level. Their technology delivers customizable insights for both individual and team performance, making it particularly attractive for scholastic esports teams.
Omnic.AI is also dedicated to social impact, an ethos that aligns closely with PlayVS. The co-founders met while working on a campaign aimed at providing laptops to every middle school student and teacher in Maine. Their mission emphasizes improving the lives and careers of players, designers, and coaches, reflecting PlayVS’s goal of enhancing accessibility to the positive aspects of esports for all students.
PlayVS aims to make esports more accessible to youth while equipping them with valuable skills in STEM and leadership. By collaborating with Omnic.AI, PlayVS seeks to enrich the player experience through enhanced understanding of in-game performance and real-time feedback. This approach not only refines gameplay but also fosters crucial life skills such as critical thinking and effective communication.
"Partnering with Omnic.AI marks a monumental advancement in our support for young gamers," Chapman stated. "Their innovative technology will enable our community to hone their skills and distinguish themselves in the world of esports."
By providing advanced analytical tools and resources for skill development, PlayVS ensures that students not only excel in esports but also acquire life skills essential for success beyond gaming.

“We're integrating this tool into the broader PlayVS Collective,” Chapman added. “The application of AI in competitive gaming is a thrilling development.”
Meredith, with his engineering background, has been experimenting with AI models to analyze player performance and generate comparative results—akin to an AI-driven scouting report for competitive esports universities.
PlayVS seeks to educate young players about the value of continuous feedback and improvement, with a few months required to model and adapt the tool for new gaming titles.
"We're constantly pursuing detailed stats and comprehensive player and team profiles, and this tool significantly contributes to that," Chapman explained. "It helps us evaluate team talent and create balanced competitive schedules within state or regional leagues."
With a dedicated team of 85, PlayVS is committed to leveraging the AI tool to enhance resources for its community and further the growth of competitive gaming in schools.
