Podcastle Secures $13.5M Funding: Founder Highlights AI-Powered Expansion in Armenia’s ‘Mini-Silicon Valley’

Podcastle Secures $13.5 Million in Series A Funding to Enhance AI-Powered Podcasting Platform

Podcastle, an innovative podcasting platform renowned for its generative AI features, has successfully raised $13.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Mosaic Ventures. Additional contributions came from existing investors RTP Global, Point Nine Capital, Sierra Ventures, and Andrew Ng’s AI Fund. Notable industry leaders like Squarespace CEO Anthony Casalena and Moonbug Media CEO René Rechtman also joined this funding round.

Currently, Podcastle reports that nearly one million creators are utilizing its tools, which leverage AI technology, though this number has not been independently verified. Simon Levene, co-founder and partner at Mosaic Ventures, praised Podcastle, stating, “Arto and the team have developed a market-leading product, demonstrating early signs of organic growth that we believe will continue to accelerate in the coming years.”

In a discussion with Arto Yeritsyan, the founder and CEO of Podcastle, he explained, “Last summer, we introduced the option for teams to create podcasts, transitioning from a single-user experience to a multiplayer one. This latest funding will support our scaling efforts. We witnessed a remarkable 10x growth last year and aim to build on that momentum.”

Among its standout offerings, Podcastle features Revoice, an AI-driven voice cloning tool; Magic Dust AI for audio enhancement; the Podcastle Hosting Hub; and Podcastle for Teams. Yeritsyan emphasized the platform’s focus on long-form content creation: “We're dedicated to anything that generates substantive content, unlike short-form videos typical of TikTok. Our tools facilitate seamless collaboration throughout the entire workflow, from ideation to audience engagement. Users can record, edit, and collaborate without leaving the platform.”

Yeritsyan believes Podcastle stands out from competitors through its real-time collaboration capabilities and AI features, stating, “We compete with Riverside primarily in recording and with Descript for editing. Unlike Descript, which requires local installation, our service is entirely web-based, offering an integrated solution. Think of us as the Figma for video and audio content creation, enabling collaboration without the need for desktop software.”

He plans to highlight these collaborative features and online editing capabilities: “Our platform integrates the entire workflow. Podcasters can invite editors, and the team can collaborate to create marketing assets like short-form videos directly from long-form content, all without switching tools.”

When asked about the most significant trends in podcasting, Yeritsyan highlighted the rise of “studio sound.” He explained, “Our tools can deliver studio-quality audio from any recording device. Whether you're using a phone or podcasting in different environments, our technology ensures a professional output."

He elaborated on the growing popularity of video podcasting on platforms like YouTube, which led Podcastle to introduce video features. “Regardless of your camera quality, you can achieve DSLR-like results. Our tools offer AI capabilities like background blur and bokeh effects,” he noted.

Another emerging trend is focused on marketing, he added: “We've enabled creators to produce numerous short clips and distribute them across social media channels. With AI, asset creation is automated, making it easier to attract audiences to long-form content.”

Yeritsyan pointed out a shift in consumer behavior, stating, “People now make decisions based on video content rather than traditional browsing. They turn to YouTube channels and podcasts before making choices, moving away from earlier methods.”

Regarding Armenia's growth as a tech hub, particularly with unicorns like Picsart emerging from the region, Yeritsyan reported that Podcastle's engineering team operates out of Armenia, which is rapidly evolving into a European tech center due to investments from major companies like Adobe and Nvidia in search of AI talent.

“Yes, absolutely. We're becoming a mini Silicon Valley. Companies like Adobe are establishing offices here, and Nvidia is making its presence felt. Former employees from companies like Picsart are launching their ventures. I personally spent eight years as a VP of Engineering at Picsart," he shared.

To strengthen its leadership, Podcastle has recently onboarded Allan Rechtman, a former VP at Canva, as Chief Commercial Officer, while bringing Damian Sacco (formerly of Prezi) on board as VP of Growth. Dmitry Kopylovsky has also been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer.
