Companies can now purchase a ChatGPT Enterprise license not just directly from OpenAI, but also through the multinational consulting firm PwC. Previously, businesses could only subscribe by contacting an OpenAI sales representative. This new purchasing method not only simplifies access to the AI service but also allows PwC to offer additional services aimed at optimizing corporate workloads with ChatGPT.
This change stems from a recent partnership between PwC and OpenAI, part of PwC’s ongoing investment in AI technology. The goal is to expand PwC's technology ecosystem, integrate generative AI into their platform, and assist businesses in leveraging AI for quicker and more effective results.
Organizations are opting for ChatGPT Enterprise for various reasons—either they are curious about the technology or have specific AI projects in mind. However, some businesses may want to integrate ChatGPT but are unsure of how to begin. PwC aims to capitalize on this need by collaborating with business leaders to strategize and develop tailored applications or services.
PwC has already enrolled its teams in the U.S. and U.K. in the ChatGPT Enterprise program, positioning itself as the largest user of this AI solution. With over 267,000 employees globally, a significant number of these professionals are likely based in the U.S. and U.K., resulting in a considerable user base for a single company. PwC reports utilizing custom GPTs for various tasks such as tax return reviews, proposal generation, software development assistance, dashboard monitoring, and report composing.
According to a recent press release, "We have entered the ‘prove it’ phase where we are actively demonstrating the capabilities and benefits of generative AI. Our holistic approach leverages deep industry expertise to transform clients through AI, connecting value sources to common patterns for enhanced impact. This methodology allows for faster outcomes with improved productivity, consistency, and efficiency."
Launched in August 2023, ChatGPT Enterprise is designed for large business users. It adds to a diverse array of enterprise AI models and tools, including Cohere's LLM offerings, Anthropic's Scale AI partnership, Microsoft Azure’s OpenAI service, and Amazon Bedrock. Unlike its consumer version, ChatGPT Enterprise offers enterprise-grade security, unlimited access to GPT-4, extended context windows, advanced data analysis capabilities, and extensive customization options.
PwC is not alone in the AI consulting space; competitor Accenture also announced a partnership with Cohere in March to enhance its enterprise capabilities.
