The SAG-AFTRA talent union has resumed discussions with video game companies regarding the regulations for AI usage in voice acting.
Negotiations under the Interactive Media Agreement will restart on October 23. The bargaining group includes major players such as Activision Productions, Blindlight, Disney Character Voices, Electronic Arts Productions, Formosa Interactive, Insomniac Games, Llama Productions, Take 2 Productions, and WB Games.
SAG-AFTRA initially called for a strike on July 24 after talks faltered over the protection of voice actor rights and the implementation of AI technology in game production.
Currently, there are no additional comments from either side. Meanwhile, SAG-AFTRA has announced that its members will picket WB Games in Burbank, California, tomorrow.
