Samsung has officially unveiled its newest Galaxy Book model, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, heralded as the first in its line of advanced “powerhouse AI PCs.” This laptop features a Copilot+ system, powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor—commonly referred to as Lunar Lake—capable of delivering up to 47 tera operations per second (TOPS) of neural processing unit (NPU) power. For enhanced functionality, users can connect their Galaxy phones, enabling access to additional Galaxy AI features.
Equipped with an Intel Arc GPU, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 enhances graphics performance by up to 17%. According to the press release, this new laptop will support over 300 AI-accelerated features across 100 different applications. However, the Copilot+ PC experiences are not set to launch immediately but are expected to roll out through future updates. Microsoft has confirmed that these updates will be available starting this November.
By linking a compatible Galaxy phone via Microsoft Phone Link, users can leverage Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Chat Assist, Live Translate, and Transcript Assist. A key selling point of this laptop is its blend of performance and ecosystem connectivity, similar to other Galaxy Book models, emphasizing the enhanced experience for users with additional Samsung devices. It remains unclear if Samsung intends to integrate these AI capabilities natively into the PC environment.
On the hardware front, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 boasts a large 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with Vision Booster technology designed to enhance visibility in bright conditions and minimize glare. With a resolution of 2880 x 1800, Samsung is committed to offering quality, avoiding the pitfalls of lower-resolution displays that have been seen in earlier models, such as the original 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro 360. The touchscreen capability allows users to take advantage of the 360-degree hinges and the included S Pen, effectively turning the laptop into a tablet. However, fully folding the screen back will cause the keyboard and touchpad to rest directly on the surface below.
Battery life is another significant advantage of the Snapdragon Copilot+ PCs, with Samsung promising “all-day battery life” and up to 25 hours of video playback for this Intel Copilot+ model. Whether these claims hold true in real-world conditions remains to be seen, and we’ll provide updates as soon as reviews are available. The 2-in-1 laptop will be offered with 16GB or 32GB of RAM and storage options of 512GB or 1TB, set to hit store shelves this month.
