Snapchat has introduced two exciting new features that enhance user engagement. First, users can now embed content from Snapchat directly into websites. By clicking the embed button in the share options, users can easily include Lenses, Spotlight videos, and public stories or profiles on their websites. This feature resembles capabilities already offered by platforms like Instagram and TikTok, marking a natural evolution for Snapchat as it seeks to expand beyond just photo sharing.
In addition to embedding, Snapchat has launched an innovative tool powered by OpenAI. This feature allows users to extend their snaps by intelligently predicting what the surrounding areas might look like, similar to Photoshop's Content-Aware Fill, but with a focus on the entire border. Currently, this tool is exclusively available to Snapchat+ subscribers.
Snapchat has consistently leveraged AI tools to provide perks for its growing base of over five million Snapchat+ subscribers. One notable feature, Dreams, allows users to generate eight packs of imaginative images, accessible one time for regular users and one set per month for Snapchat+ subscribers. Additional packs can be purchased for $0.99 each.
In response to the AI trend, Snapchat quickly launched a chatbot called My AI in February, utilizing customized GPT technology. Initially exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers, My AI was made available to all users globally two months later, offering functionalities such as restaurant recommendations and photo interactions.
