Microsoft is enhancing campaign building for marketers by integrating generative AI technology from the startup Typeface into its Dynamics 365 Customer Insights platform.
Today’s announcement marks a significant step in the collaboration between Microsoft and Typeface, a San Francisco-based company that emerged from stealth in February 2023. Having raised $100 million in June for its customizable enterprise content creation technology, Typeface focuses on helping organizations align their content closely with their branding and style. This latest integration builds on their existing partnership.
“This isn’t just about adding a prompt box to an existing application,” said Abhay Parasnis, founder and CEO of Typeface. “We’re asking, what if we could start with a blank canvas and reimagine how marketing journeys and customer insights transform into compelling stories and content for customers?”
Typeface Strengthens Its Network of Partnerships
Partnerships are central to Typeface's go-to-market strategy. In June 2023, the company teamed up with Salesforce to facilitate custom content creation within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Additionally, Typeface collaborates with Google Cloud and GrowthLoop to offer a generative AI Marketing Solution.
Further expanding its ecosystem, Typeface recently introduced a tool for content development within Microsoft Teams. Notably, Microsoft is also an investor in Typeface and leverages Microsoft's Azure OpenAI services as part of its technology stack.
Lori Lamkin, Corporate Vice President of Dynamics 365 Sales and Marketing at Microsoft, stated that Dynamics 365 Customer Insights delivers a suite of third-party services designed to create comprehensive customer experiences. “Continued collaboration with generative AI services like Typeface exemplifies this approach,” she noted.
Lamkin highlighted that Typeface utilizes generative AI to deliver on-brand images and content seamlessly integrated with the overall customer experience.
Enhancing Marketing Workflows with Typeface
Marketing professionals leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights will benefit from the added capabilities of Typeface. The integration promises to extend beyond Microsoft’s built-in offerings.
According to Parasnis, users can express their marketing goals in simple terms. “Just describe your objective—like maximizing sales for a new coffee machine—and the AI translates that into a complete campaign,” he explained. This campaign can encompass various content assets, including marketing materials and emails, ensuring that all content aligns with the organization’s brand.
Typeface technology rapidly adapts to a customer’s existing brand assets—such as product images and marketing collateral—making it easier to create tailored content.
As part of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, users can transition from data insights to actionable content creation within a single, streamlined application. “You can move from insights and data to activation using Typeface, all within one seamless workflow,” Parasnis concluded.
