LinkedIn is enhancing its premium subscription with a new AI-powered job coach designed to assist job seekers in finding, researching, and applying for roles. This feature comes as LinkedIn celebrates reaching a milestone of 1 billion members and increases its focus on AI-driven functionalities.
The Microsoft-owned platform has already experimented with various AI tools for its premium users, including generative AI to improve profile descriptions and message writing. The latest enhancements aim to create an even more personalized job-seeking experience.
One key feature for job seekers is AI-generated insights accompanying each job posting. This tool summarizes lengthy job descriptions and assesses role suitability based on the user’s LinkedIn profile. It highlights relevant work experiences that applicants might want to showcase and offers tips to enhance their profiles, making them more appealing to hiring managers.
According to LinkedIn product manager Rohan Rajiv, “The personalized advice is derived not just from generative AI but also from the rich datasets LinkedIn possesses.” He emphasized that this approach, leveraging user profiles and connections, significantly boosts the effectiveness of the job search process.
Currently, this feature is in beta testing for a limited number of LinkedIn Premium subscribers, but the company has indicated a commitment to integrating AI as a central component of its services in the future. “Today marks the beginning of a new journey, where AI will be your ally in every career question and decision,” said Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer.
