YouTube Tests New Feature Allowing Creators to Brainstorm Video Ideas with Google Gemini

YouTube is currently piloting a new feature called "Brainstorm with Gemini," which integrates with Google Gemini to assist creators in generating video ideas, titles, and thumbnails. This announcement was made via a video on the Creator Insider channel, showcasing YouTube's commitment to enhancing the creator experience.

A YouTube representative informed us that this feature is being tested with a select group of creators as part of a limited experiment. YouTube intends to gather feedback from these creators to determine whether to expand the feature to a wider audience.

This innovative tool could give YouTube a competitive advantage over other social media platforms that creators frequently utilize, as it provides unique resources not available on these competing sites. Furthermore, it aligns with Google's strategy to incorporate its AI technology into its video platform, encouraging creators to utilize its AI solutions over alternatives like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

"Brainstorm with Gemini" is akin to an AI content inspiration tool that YouTube introduced in May. This earlier feature offers developers topic ideas tailored to their audience interests, along with an outline of talking points to kick-start their content creation process. The spokesperson explained that creators now have the chance to receive similar assistance through Gemini, which encompasses a suite of advanced AI language models used across numerous Google products. YouTube aims to learn whether creators favor the inspiration tool, the Gemini integration, or both for generating content ideas.

During this experimental phase, creators can access YouTube Studio, enter a video idea in the search bar, and choose between the inspiration tool and the Brainstorm with Gemini feature. Despite the existing inspiration tool's capabilities, YouTube is eager to explore whether creators find value in the additional brainstorming support offered by Gemini.

While competitors like TikTok and Instagram are exploring generative AI to enable creators to create digital avatars, YouTube is focused on leveraging this technology to empower creators in content development.
