Zhihu Hosts 2024 Discovery Conference in Beijing, Unveils New AI Feature: Discover AI Search

On March 20, Zhihu hosted the "2024 Zhihu Discovery Conference" in Beijing, where founder, chairman, and CEO Zhou Yuan unveiled significant advancements in the Zhihu AI model, including the innovative “Discover·AI Search.” This feature integrates trusted community content with search capabilities, real-time Q&A, and follow-up questions, enhancing the user experience.

Zhou reflected on Zhihu's achievements in 2023, notably the launch of professional certification marked by a blue check and the elimination of anonymous posting. These initiatives have strengthened the community's professionalism and authenticity, highlighting that trust is built through genuine contributions and respectful interactions.

Trust remains a core theme in Zhihu's AI offerings. Following last year’s introduction of the “Zhihai Map AI” model, Zhou presented “Discover·AI Search,” which leverages this model to deliver historical knowledge and insights into the latest technologies. Unlike many AI features, this tool prioritizes expert contributions from the community, ensuring a high level of trustworthiness.

For example, an outdoor enthusiast asking for recommendations on backpacks for a two-day camping trip can receive high-quality insights from knowledgeable community members. The feature acts as a “radar,” connecting users with expert contributors and allowing them to explore detailed content and follow these experts for further inquiries.

During the conference, Zhihu also announced new initiatives such as the “Sea Salt Project 6.0: Navigators” and the “Short Story 3A Program.” The “Navigators” will serve as representatives within the community, using their “likes” and “dislikes” to enhance algorithmic understanding and community management.

In summary, the conference demonstrated Zhihu's commitment to fostering a trustworthy and knowledgeable community through cutting-edge AI features and strategic initiatives.
