In his tweet, Sutskever stated, "After nearly ten years, I've decided to leave OpenAI. The company's growth has been remarkable, and I believe under the leadership of Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, and Mira Murati, along with Jakub Pachocki's research direction, OpenAI will continue to advance safe and beneficial artificial general intelligence (AGI)." He conveyed high hopes for the company's trajectory, assuring that significant breakthroughs in AI are still ahead.

While Sutskever had previously supported the ousting of former CEO Sam Altman, he chose not to address this issue in his departure announcement. Instead, he focused on gratitude and well-wishes, describing his experience working with the OpenAI team as a privilege he will always cherish.
