On June 13, Apple introduced a new cleanup tool called Clean Up AI in iOS 18. This feature, similar to Google's Magic Eraser and Adobe's Generative Fill, allows users to effortlessly "erase" unwanted elements from the background of their photos with a simple circular motion.

Powered by Apple Intelligence AI technology, the Clean Up feature enables users to remove unwanted content, such as people in the background or distracting foreground objects. In addition to iOS 18, Clean Up will also be available in iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, replacing the "Retouch" tool in macOS Sonoma.

This update enhances the photo editing experience, offering users greater efficiency and convenience when managing their images.
