According to Mark Gurman, a reporter for Bloomberg, Apple's updated Siri is set to launch in spring 2025 alongside iOS 18.4, rather than the previously anticipated date of this year’s end.
In his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman stated that the new Siri will begin beta testing in January 2025. This updated version will feature improved capabilities, allowing it to perform tasks within apps and understand screen content to make context-aware decisions.
While Apple Intelligence is expected to debut this fall, the full features of the new Siri remain undisclosed. Other updates, such as a revamped design and integration with ChatGPT, are anticipated to be showcased alongside Apple Intelligence.
Gurman also revealed that the Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 will be equipped with a next-generation processor, replacing last year's S9 chip. This upgrade will lay the groundwork for future AI enhancements; however, these smartwatches will not be compatible with Apple Intelligence at this time, and there are no plans to introduce "full smart functionality" just yet.
Additionally, Gurman mentioned that Apple Intelligence will extend to the Vision Pro headset next year, while the HomePod will not initially support this new feature. The company also plans to launch an "AI-driven desktop robot."
