Lenovo is set to introduce more affordable Copilot Plus PCs, as revealed by leaker Evan Blass in a press release. These new models will be announced at the IFA trade show and include two devices powered by an unannounced 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chip.
The lineup features the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1, a convertible laptop boasting a 14-inch OLED display, and the IdeaPad Slim 5x, a sleek full-metal clamshell laptop, also available with a 14-inch OLED option. Unlike the standard 10-core Snapdragon models, these new devices utilize the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core chip.
Lenovo lists the starting price of the Slim 5x at €899 (approximately $990) and the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 at €999. Both models are expected to be available in September. This pricing indicates that Lenovo aims to offer Copilot Plus PCs for €200 less than the current cheapest model on the market, the Surface Laptop 7, which retails for €1,199.
While it remains uncertain whether US pricing will align with these European rates, comparable models from other brands are available, such as the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus for $799.99 and the HP OmniBook X for $899.99, both featuring Qualcomm's 10- or 12-core Snapdragon chips.
Additionally, Lenovo plans to introduce more Copilot Plus PCs utilizing Intel and AMD processors. Among these is the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, a 15-inch laptop powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 chips, alongside the Yoga Pro 7 and IdeaPad Slim 5 equipped with AMD’s latest Ryzen processors.
