Xiaomi's recently upgraded Panghuai OS has enhanced the Xiao Ai Translation feature, introducing more practical capabilities and expanding language support. This update adds Japanese and Korean translations to the real-time subtitle function, enabling users to access accurate transcriptions and translations while watching videos without subtitles or participating in live meetings.
Moreover, the Xiao Ai Translation feature now includes a face-to-face interpretation mode, supporting a total of 12 languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Indonesian, and Hindi. This enhancement greatly facilitates international communication and cross-cultural interaction.
Currently, these new features are available exclusively on the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, Xiaomi MIX Flip, and Redmi K70 Supreme Edition, with adaptation timelines for other models yet to be announced. Back in 2021, Xiaomi introduced a new generation of AI subtitle functions on its flagship device, the MIX 4, tailored for various scenarios such as live broadcasts, online meetings, and voice calls. This marked a significant improvement in translation stability and response speed, managing various English accents to minimize reading disruption for users.
In August of last year, Xiao Ai also launched an offline version of the real-time subtitle feature, allowing users to attend online meetings and watch foreign-language videos without an internet connection, further enhancing its usability.
As technology evolves and user demands grow, it is anticipated that more Xiaomi devices will support these advanced translation and real-time subtitle features, further enriching the smartphone experience for users.
