Aethir and GameSwift have partnered on an innovative Web3 gaming project that merges a modular gaming chain with decentralized cloud infrastructure.
Aethir specializes in offering graphics processing units (GPUs) as a service, aggregating unused GPUs into a decentralized cloud infrastructure to enhance Web3 networks for game developers.
Today, Aethir announced an integration with GameSwift, a modular layer 2 built on the OP Stack. The GameSwift Modular Chain supports the GameSwift platform, player IDs, and a desktop game launcher for Windows and MacOS.
This integration will provide game publishers and players worldwide with access to distributed and scalable cloud gaming infrastructure, while introducing new Instant Play experiences for the many titles available on the GameSwift Launcher.
“Leveraging Aethir’s advanced computational capabilities allows our community to unlock unparalleled gaming experiences,” said Wojciech “Pan Paragraf” Gruszka, CEO of GameSwift. “By overcoming traditional gaming hurdles, we can equip developers with tools to create complex and immersive experiences, enabling mass user onboarding in a cost-effective manner.”
GameSwift is developing the GameSwift Launcher, a standalone app that enables users to quickly and efficiently download and run multiple games from GameSwift's cloud servers. In Q4 2023, the Launcher will feature GS-Force AI, allowing players to monetize their gaming PCs' computing power for AI and machine learning computations.
“GameSwift aligns with our vision to enhance accessibility and scalability in decentralized Web3 gaming,” said Paul Thind, Chief Revenue Officer of Aethir. “Integrating AI with GPU power creates innovative monetization opportunities for gamers. This solution harnesses the substantial GPU power embedded in gaming computers, benefiting both gamers and AI developers. Together, we're establishing a new industry standard for the future of gaming.”
The GameSwift Launcher introduces the “Play and Earn” model, blending gaming enjoyment with earning potential. With over 150 titles available, including popular games like World of Tanks and Metin2, the library aims to expand to 1,000 titles by the end of 2024. After playing, gamers can choose to allow their graphics cards to support AI operations, transforming idle time into income.
By integrating Aethir’s infrastructure with GameSwift’s ecosystem, both companies empower individuals to contribute premium cloud computing power, enhancing gaming experiences and supporting a decentralized, community-driven cloud network.
Additionally, Aethir Edge, an enterprise-grade mining AI device integrated with Aethir’s distributed GPU cloud, is now available for games from the GS store for cloud gaming services. Edge combines robust computing, exclusive earning opportunities, and decentralized access, unlocking the full potential of decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN).
This collaboration strengthens GameSwift’s ecosystem, benefits Edge holders, and bolsters the Aethir community, paving the way for a more accessible and scalable future in Web3 gaming. Aethir has raised $130 million and currently employs 157 people.
