The AI Platform Alliance has announced the expansion of its consortium, focused on integrating essential chips and hardware for modern AI compute services with open, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
Initially formed last year at the Open Compute Conference, the alliance began with AI accelerator companies—organizations that manufacture chips to enhance AI software performance. It has now grown to include cloud managed service providers, system suppliers, integrators, and software companies, illustrating the development of a robust ecosystem tailored for demanding AI inference applications.
Are You Ready for AI Agents? The evolving alliance is prioritizing practical and easily adoptable solutions through a new marketplace featured on the AI Platform Alliance website. The offerings from alliance members enhance both the power and cost-efficiency of AI inference, outperforming many traditional GPU-based solutions currently available.
Recent additions to the AI Platform Alliance include Adlink, ASRock Rack, ASA Computers, Canonical, Clairo.ai, Deepgram, DeepX, ECS/Equus, Giga Computing (Gigabyte), Kamiwaza.ai, Lampi.ai, Netint, NextComputing, opsZero, Positron, Prov.net/Alpha3, Responsible Compute, Supermicro, Untether, View IO, and Wallaroo.ai.
These companies join founding members such as Ampere Computing, Cerebras Systems, Furiosa, Graphcore, Kalray, Kinara, Luminous, Neuchips, Rebellions, and Sapeon, bringing the total membership to over 30 organizations across five essential sectors of the industry, all contributing to the fast-evolving AI inference landscape.
The AI Platform Alliance was established to foster collaboration and transparency in AI development. This unified vision is crucial not only for the tech sector but for global society, especially as the demand for compute power skyrockets with the rise of AI. While current solutions primarily address AI model training, AI inference can necessitate up to 10 times the compute resources typically used for traditional processes to support complex AI-enabled services.
To effectively implement these solutions, a seamless ecosystem of technology, services, and applications is essential. The members of the AI Platform Alliance are committed to validating collaborative AI solutions that offer diverse alternatives to the prevailing GPU-centric platforms. By working together, this group aims to accelerate AI innovation, enhance platform openness and transparency, and expand AI's potential to address real-world challenges—all while promoting sustainable and socially responsible infrastructure.
Many members of the AI Platform Alliance will showcase their solutions at Yotta 2024 in Las Vegas from October 7 to October 9. The alliance is currently welcoming new members interested in reshaping the future of AI. Companies interested in joining can find more information and apply directly on the official website.
