Dell Enhances Generative AI Portfolio for Custom Model Development and Personalization

Dell has introduced a significant expansion of its Generative AI Solutions portfolio, focusing on secure data utilization. The latest enhancements allow users to customize models using proprietary data within the Gen AI Solutions suite. Featuring cutting-edge collaboration with Nvidia, the Dell Validated Design for Generative AI provides pre-trained models that effectively extract intelligence from data, eliminating the need for developing models from scratch.

This innovative solution prioritizes data security by ensuring that sensitive information remains on-premises. It also accommodates various use cases, including training diffusion, transfer learning, and prompt tuning. The Dell Validated Designs for Generative AI integrates advanced infrastructure from both Dell and Nvidia, with global availability set to launch in late October.

In addition, Dell has rolled out new Data Preparation Services aimed at refining datasets for AI initiatives, along with Implementation Services that offer a robust operational framework for inference and model customization. To further support the growing interest in generative AI, Dell has initiated Education Services, designed to enhance the skills of professionals in this rapidly evolving field.

“To maximize AI efforts and support workloads across public clouds, on-premises environments, and at the edge, companies need a robust data foundation with the appropriate infrastructure, software, and services,” emphasized Jeff Boudreau, Chief AI Officer at Dell Technologies.

In a notable collaboration, Dell is partnering with Starburst to introduce a groundbreaking data lakehouse solution. This integration combines Starburst's analytics capabilities with Dell's PowerEdge compute platform, enabling users to extract insights from data, regardless of its location.

“Customers will gain easy and secure access to multi-cloud data, maximizing the value of analytics and facilitating AI-driven workflows and deployments,” according to Dell. The data lakehouse solution is anticipated to be globally available in the first half of 2024.

Through these expansions, Dell is positioning itself as a leader in generative AI, providing powerful tools and services that empower organizations to harness the full potential of their data while ensuring security and efficiency in a variety of environments.
