Amazon has launched a new AI-driven shopping tool designed to help customers quickly find products tailored to their specific needs. The AI-powered “Shopping Guides” are now available on Amazon’s mobile website and apps for iOS and Android, offering personalized product information and recommendations during the browsing experience.
These AI guides cover over 100 product types, including TVs, headphones, running shoes, and skincare products. They provide educational content and customer insights, empowering users to make informed purchasing decisions. For instance, selecting a shopping guide for headphones reveals a curated list of recommendations based on popularity, customer reviews, and price.
Additionally, users can explore various “factors to consider,” which categorize products by brand, use case (such as sports or gaming), or connectivity type (wired or wireless). This section aids shoppers in understanding specific product features and their implications, moving away from the traditional tick-box menus.
The Shopping Guides also present a summary of brands along with customer reviews, enhancing the visual appeal and ease of filtering options. However, the interface occupies more screen space, and it remains unclear if users can disable the feature if necessary.
AI Shopping Guides will automatically appear as autocompleted suggestions during searches “when appropriate.” They can also be directly accessed from the homepage, where the “Keep Shopping For” card highlights relevant guides based on recent shopping activity.
