Amazon has introduced a new AI-powered shopping tool designed to help customers find products based on their specific needs. The “Shopping Guides” feature is now available in the US on Amazon’s mobile website and apps for iOS and Android, offering users personalized product recommendations and detailed information while they browse.
Currently, this feature supports over 100 product categories, including TVs, headphones, running shoes, and skincare items. According to Amazon, the guides provide “educational content” alongside customer insights to assist shoppers in making informed purchase decisions. For instance, selecting a shopping guide for headphones will showcase recommended products based on popularity, customer reviews, and pricing.
Furthermore, the “factors to consider” section allows shoppers to filter products by specific criteria, such as brand, intended use (e.g., sports, gaming, students), or connectivity type (wired, wireless, USB). This helps users comprehend distinct product features more effectively, rather than being overwhelmed by a multitude of options.
In addition, the tool presents a summary of brands and customer reviews to inform purchasing decisions. This new interface offers a more visual method for narrowing down choices compared to traditional checklists, allowing users to better grasp what features are available and their meanings.
The AI Shopping Guides will appear as autocomplete suggestions when relevant and can also be accessed directly to explore available guides. Users can find related AI Shopping Guides by clicking on the “Keep Shopping For” card on Amazon’s homepage that reflects their recent shopping activities.
