Google's Bard has introduced several exciting new features in its latest update, enhancing its capabilities and user experience. This chatbot AI now boasts expanded linguistic knowledge, enabling conversations in nearly 40 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish. Users can access Bard from diverse locations, such as Brazil and across Europe.
According to Bard Product Lead Jack Krawczyk and VP of Engineering Amarnag Subramanya, the platform will continue to grow, guided by AI principles and user feedback while prioritizing privacy and data protection.
A significant enhancement is Bard's ability to respond aloud, allowing users to listen to generated responses, which is especially beneficial for understanding the pronunciation of words in newly added languages. Users also have improved control over Bard's tone, with five options: simple, long, short, professional, or casual. Currently, this feature is available for English-language requests, but expansion to additional languages is on the horizon.
Bard also gains new multimodal capabilities, allowing it to interpret images shared in the chat. This feature enables users to easily obtain information or generate captions based on the images without needing to upload documents.
Furthermore, sharing content created by Bard is more streamlined. Users can now export generated Python code to Replit and Colab, as well as copy and share specific portions of their chats. Organizing conversations is easier too, thanks to new features like pinned conversations and the ability to rename them.
