Google is integrating Gemini AI into its Workspace productivity suite, significantly expanding its user base. Recently, the company announced that the standalone Gemini app will be included as a standard feature in Workspace Business, Enterprise, and Frontline plans starting in Q4, eliminating the need for a separate Gemini add-on.
Gemini will adhere to the same enterprise terms as essential Workspace services such as Gmail and Docs, ensuring that it does not use organizational data, generated responses, or user prompts to enhance its AI model. Workspace Administrators will soon have the capability to control whether Gemini stores generated responses and user prompts, along with setting retention periods.
Additionally, Gemini for Workspace has attained SOC 1/2/3 and ISO 27701 security and privacy certifications, providing organizations with added confidence in deploying the chatbot for professional use. To enhance security against malware, phishing, and other cyber threats, Google is launching a new "Security Advisor" tool that delivers insights directly to IT administrators. This tool will incorporate a variety of safe browsing and data protection features for Chrome, Gmail, and Google Drive, and will be available to paying Workspace customers in the coming weeks.
