OpenAI’s ChatGPT Surpasses 100 Million Weekly Active Users: A Milestone Achievement

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on Monday at the company’s inaugural developer conference in San Francisco that ChatGPT has reached a remarkable milestone: 100 million weekly active users. Launched less than a year ago, the platform achieved an impressive 100 million monthly users within just two months of its debut, setting the record for the fastest-growing user base in history. Altman also revealed that over two million developers actively utilize the platform, which includes more than 92% of Fortune 500 companies.

During the conference, OpenAI shared several exciting updates alongside these milestones. One of the standout announcements was the introduction of GPT-4 Turbo—a more powerful and cost-effective version of its popular text-generating AI model, GPT-4. Additionally, OpenAI unveiled "GPTs," allowing users to create personalized versions of the conversational AI system. Soon, users will also have the opportunity to publish their custom GPTs on a marketplace known as the "GPT Store," enabling them to potentially earn revenue.

Furthermore, OpenAI announced that DALL-E 3, its advanced text-to-image model, is now accessible via an API, following its initial integration with ChatGPT and Bing Chat. Notably, the new Assistants API will enable developers to create “agent-like experiences” in their applications. With this tool, developers can build assistants that utilize external knowledge and harness OpenAI's generative AI models to carry out various tasks.

In addition, OpenAI is launching a text-to-speech API featuring six predefined voices and two generative AI model variants, expanding its suite of innovative tools for developers.
