Rep.ai, a startup set to revolutionize online sales interactions, has secured $7.5 million in funding to launch its innovative AI-driven “digital twin” technology. Formerly known as ServiceBell, the company is rebranding and shifting its focus to develop lifelike AI avatars capable of engaging website visitors through real-time video and audio conversations.

Founded by Daniel Ternyak, Rep.ai’s technology creates digital replicas of sales representatives, allowing these AI avatars to interact with potential customers around the clock. The system utilizes visual and voice replication alongside natural language processing, trained specifically on a company's marketing materials and CRM data.

“Our goal is to provide a human-like experience without human constraints,” Ternyak explained in an interview. “Availability is the biggest barrier to having quality conversations.”

AI Sales Reps: Bridging the Gap Between Chatbots and Humans

Rep.ai's solution aims to fill the void between impersonal chatbots and human sales personnel, offering a more engaging experience for website visitors while allowing human staff to focus on higher-priority tasks. The technology distinguishes itself in the saturated AI chatbot market by providing interactive video and audio experiences through what Ternyak refers to as “digital twins” of real sales representatives. “To my knowledge, we’re the first to build it,” he noted, highlighting the ability to communicate with a live AI clone of a sales representative on a website.

The funding will be directed toward advancing AI model development and recruiting top engineering talent, with investors including Browder Capital, Gradient, and M[X]V.
