Salesforce Acquires Zoomin: A Powerful Knowledge Management Tool for Organizing Company Information

Salesforce is actively expanding its portfolio. After acquiring data management company Own earlier this month, Salesforce has now revealed its intention to purchase Zoomin, an innovative enterprise knowledge platform. Zoomin, which we’ve discussed previously, consolidates various company documents—such as product user guides and tutorials—into a single, user-friendly portal.

The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Salesforce anticipates completing the deal in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2025, which ends on January 31, pending typical closing conditions.

Founded in 2019 by Gal Oron, Hannan Saltzman, and Joe Gelb, Zoomin leverages AI and big data technologies to enhance self-service documentation and support experiences for businesses. The Israeli startup has gained a diverse clientele, including technology leaders like McAfee and Dell, as well as fast-food giants such as Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes.

Zoomin has attracted significant investment, with backers including General Atlantic, Bessemer Ventures Partners, Viola Growth, and Salesforce Ventures, which collectively invested $73 million in the company.

Rahul Auradkar, Executive Vice President of Unified Data Sources at Salesforce, stated that after the acquisition, Zoomin will enhance Salesforce’s Data Cloud platform, enabling capabilities such as automating customer service interactions through the company’s knowledge base. “Proprietary unstructured data is a powerful resource our customers can harness for AI-driven agents and improved customer experiences,” Auradkar explained. “Zoomin's established expertise and technology will drive innovation in Data Cloud and help our customers derive greater value.”

Salesforce's acquisition of Zoomin aligns with the company's commitment to invest an additional $500 million in AI startups through Salesforce Ventures, underlining its dedication to advancing AI capabilities in enterprise solutions.
