My AI, the digital assistant integrated into Snapchat Plus, has experienced frequent breakdowns and technical issues since its launch in February. Recently, users reported that the chatbot posted brief one-second Stories to their feeds, leading to confusion and concern. Notably, My AI is not designed to post Stories, prompting speculation on social media about potential AI malfunctions.

One user questioned whether the bot shared an unexpected photo of their ceiling after seeing a two-tone image in their Stories. When asked about this mysterious post, the chatbot often became unresponsive or cited technical difficulties, causing both alarm and humor among users regarding the possibility of AI evolution. Ultimately, the issue was attributed to a temporary outage. A spokesperson confirmed, “My AI experienced a temporary outage that’s now resolved,” clarifying that "at this time, My AI does not have a Stories feature."

Included in the $3.99/month Snapchat Plus package, My AI offers various functionalities, such as AR filter recommendations and personalized suggestions for restaurants and activities based on Snap Map trends. It enhances group chats, photo and video sharing, and text messaging with an AI persona. Additionally, a text-to-image generation feature is reportedly in development, further expanding its capabilities.
