According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to integrate the Apple Intelligence feature into the Vision Pro headset, but it will not be available for the HomePod anytime soon.
In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman explains that while the Vision Pro has sufficient memory to support local Apple Intelligence functions—such as notification summaries, writing tools, and an updated Siri—these capabilities are not expected to launch this year. Apple's user interface design team is focused on ensuring that Apple Intelligence works effectively in a mixed-reality environment while also managing cloud computing resources to accommodate additional devices.
Gurman also noted that the HomePod will not be receiving Apple Intelligence anytime soon. Instead, Apple is prioritizing the development of a new robotic device that will feature a display and center around Apple Intelligence. The reason for this shift is that Apple Intelligence requires a minimum of 8GB of memory, while the current HomePod and HomePod mini only provide 1GB. Apple has determined that introducing this feature on existing devices would not be cost-effective.
Looking ahead, Gurman predicts that Apple Intelligence will become a vital component of Apple's ecosystem, supporting the company's growth. Updates to Apple Intelligence are expected to occur more frequently than those for iCloud services, aligning at least with the rhythm of Apple's hardware and software updates.
