Recently, the podcast "Next Big Idea Club" featured an in-depth interview with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, focusing on themes such as artificial intelligence.
During his conversation with host Rufus Griscom, Gates reflected on a prediction he made back in 1980: that every household would one day have a computer. When asked about the future of AI, particularly the concept of having a personal “AI advisor,” Gates emphasized that the hardware form it takes is not the most crucial aspect. He noted that devices like headphones can enhance audio clarity, which is an important functional form. Additionally, he mentioned that smart glasses could project video content directly into a user's field of vision, facilitating richer interactive experiences.
Gates has been exploring the idea of "personal intelligence agents" for decades, believing they can track and integrate user information more effectively than human assistants. He envisions various types of AI agents—ranging from personal assistants to therapeutic agents—powered by deep learning to deliver personalized services.
Similarly, Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, has stated that future AI agents are set to redefine the landscape of artificial intelligence, anticipating both gradual improvements and significant breakthroughs that will create entirely new experiences.
