HP's Print AI Introduces an Enhanced Way to Print Web Pages

HP has just unveiled HP Print AI, touted as “the industry’s first intelligent print” experience. This innovative software aims to simplify and enhance the printing process, from setup to support. Among its various features, the standout is called Perfect Output, which addresses the common challenges of printing from web pages—often resulting in unsatisfactory quality.

Perfect Output uses advanced algorithms to eliminate unnecessary white space and remove advertisements, ensuring that images are optimized for better clarity. HP claims this will allow printed web content to rival the quality of documents from traditional word processors, with everything designed to “fit perfectly on the page for the first time.” This feature also extends to spreadsheets, which are known for being particularly difficult to print.

Starting today, Perfect Output is being rolled out to select beta customers. HP confirmed that this functionality is compatible with any of their printers, provided the correct driver is installed on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 device. Following user feedback, a broader release is expected soon.

Additionally, HP Print AI incorporates artificial intelligence to offer tailored support for each user, with capabilities that anticipate individual needs. This is especially beneficial for setup processes and remembering user preferences. The software includes a chatbot powered by a proprietary "print language model," enabling users to make language-based queries.

Currently, these features exist within driver software, but HP plans to integrate them more prominently in an app update scheduled for next year.
