OPPO Launches AI-Powered Smartphones: Ushering in a New Era of Intelligence

At a recent AI strategy media event in London, OPPO announced its ambitious plan to make AI smartphones widely accessible. The company explored future developments in AI smartphones through collaborations with industry leaders such as Google, MediaTek, and IDC.

Zhang Zhouchuan, OPPO’s President of Overseas Marketing and Services, stated, “We are the first smartphone manufacturer to integrate generative AI features across our entire product line, with an estimated 50 million users expected to enjoy these capabilities this year.” According to a recent IDC report, shipments of AI smartphones priced under $1,000 are projected to reach 35 million units by 2024, reflecting a remarkable 250% year-over-year growth.

Additionally, OPPO is partnering with Google to integrate the Gemini AI model into its Reno12 series and the next-generation Find X series. This collaboration promises to deliver a range of practical AI tools for users, including content generation and audio summarization.

Earlier this year, OPPO launched its "AI Era" event before the Chinese New Year, sharing a new software update packed with over a hundred AI features to millions of OPPO and OnePlus users.

Liu Zuohua, OPPO's Chief Product Officer, emphasized in an interview, “We view AI as the most significant strategic frontier for the next era of smartphones, with limitless potential for the future.”

This commitment positions OPPO at the forefront of the AI smartphone revolution, enhancing user experience and setting a new standard in the industry.
