Sorry Fans: Galaxy S21 FE Lacks Galaxy AI Features in One UI 6.1 Update

Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) users might feel disappointed by the absence of Galaxy AI features in the One UI 6.1 update. Although the Galaxy S21 FE shares the same hardware as the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, it lacks access to any AI functionalities. It's worth noting that the other models in the Galaxy S21 series can only utilize the "Circle to Search" AI feature.

According to the One UI 6.1 update log, the only AI feature available on the Galaxy S21 FE within the gallery app is enhanced recommendations while viewing photos or videos. While these recommendations employ AI and machine learning technologies, they do not form part of the Galaxy AI ecosystem.

Galaxy AI encompasses a range of advanced image editing tools such as object moving, deletion, replacement, and real-time translation. Unfortunately, these features are limited to flagship smartphones and tablets released after 2021. Many users are frustrated with Samsung's failure to include these capabilities in flagship models released before 2022, and the absence of any AI features in the Galaxy S21 FE further amplifies this dissatisfaction.

The "Circle to Search" feature, in fact, was developed by Google and does not qualify as a true Galaxy AI feature. Despite the lack of hardware limitations, Samsung has yet to implement this functionality across all Galaxy S21 models, indicating a possible oversight. We hope future updates will introduce additional capabilities for the S21 FE, and we will keep an eye on further developments.
