On the first day of the Google I/O conference, the Pixel 8a received its first software update, approximately 190MB in size. This update brings some notable enhancements to Google's latest mid-range smartphone.

Firstly, it installs the May 2024 Android security patch, ensuring that the device is protected against the latest security vulnerabilities. A standout feature of this update is the introduction of Google’s AI-driven wallpaper generator. This feature was initially announced at last year's I/O conference and was first exclusive to the Pixel 8 series, launched last fall.
