Upcoming Major Software Update for Galaxy S24: Detailed Overview of New AI Features

Samsung Galaxy S24 users are set to receive a significant software update. Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. This update, sized at 2.8GB, not only includes the security patch for September 2024 but also introduces several exciting new AI-based features.

This update enhances productivity tools such as Note Assist, PDF Overlay Translation, and Sketch to Image. Note Assist can translate and summarize meeting notes, converting voice recordings into text. PDF Overlay Translation allows users to translate text in PDF files, images, and charts, while the Sketch to Image feature generates image options from simple sketches.

Additionally, the update includes Portrait Studio for enhancing portrait photos, a cross-app calling translation feature, Listening Mode for simultaneous voice recording and text conversion, and automatic language recognition. One UI 6.1.1 also introduces dynamic wallpapers that change with the weather and time of day.

Following the Galaxy S24 series, One UI 6.1.1 will be available for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The newly released Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 come with this version pre-installed.

After the update, the One UI version on the devices will still display as One UI 6.1, as Samsung uses the x.1.1 version number for foldable devices and tablets. This year, Samsung, Google, and Apple have all integrated AI capabilities into their mobile products. Samsung has expanded Galaxy AI across various smartphones and tablets, continuously broadening its reach. The latest One UI update provides users with additional practical tools, enhancing the overall user experience.
