New York State to Oversee AI Usage with New Legislation
New York state has made a new law that says government agencies must check and tell everyone how they use artificial intelligence software. Governor Kathy Hochul signed this law after it was passed by the state lawmakers earlier this year. The law says that any software using algorithms, computer models, or AI must be looked at carefully. Then, the agencies have to give the results to the governor and top lawmakers, and also put them on the internet.
